You will learn the Ba Gua sword form of Sun Xikun, which I learned from my Ba Gua teacher, Luo Dexiu. It is a relatively short sequence that is dynamic, easy to learn, practical, and great exercise. We will also cover a set of basic sword movements that will break down sword work into useful pieces. To the extent that time allows, we will do some two-person work. We will not be using sharp swords, but rather wooden, telescopic, or blunt swords for safety. The swords are `standard’ Chinese double-edged swords. They are light and designed for nimble, quick movements. No previous training is necessary.

I have a few extra swords to use on the day. If you want to buy a sword, there are wooden ones available from nearby Rising Sun Martial Arts Supplies for $40. I will take a group order and get them from Rising Sun (you of course can source them yourselves). If you would like me to get you one, let me know when you register as soon as possible.
